I read about this metaphor in an interview[^1] with Florence Gaub, Futurologist at NATO. Very comprehensible. Very desirable.

I treat my smartphone like a dog. It's not allowed at the table, in bed or on the couch. Sometimes I do it anyway, but it's always a mistake.
